PERSONAL PRACTICE
My identity as the artist-teacher is significant in maintaining both my educational and art practice. I am constantly developing my practice by investing time using my knowledge in sustained periods of studio time to develop sound projects based on my practice.
I understand the important role of practice which informs planning for the classroom and the significant nuances embed in my practice that is real and relevant to model for students to help them to discover conceptual processes in art making.
The methodology I developed through making and researching through my studio practice has equip me with knowledge on how to teach through using a discovery learning approach, using Kolb’s four stage experimental learning model (ELM) in each stage of the making process.
